Soraya Ali is a British-Somali journalist, humanitarian, and human rights advocate with over a decade of experience reporting from across the world.
She built her career as a reporter and producer with BBC World Service and Reuters, before leading Save the Children's media operations across the Middle East. Her work has taken her to Somalia, Iraq, Syria, Gaza, Uganda, Senegal, Kenya, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.
Soraya is a founding member and former Chief Operating Officer (COO) for The Vavengers, an award-winning charity that supports survivors of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), later serving on their Board of Trustees. She holds a BA in Journalism and a Postgraduate Diploma in Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation, and is currently completing an LLM in Human Rights Law. She is a Churchill Fellow and Rotary Peace Fellow.
